They tend to work fairly well as long as you don't overdo it. I saw one soundman once had two of them back to bak, for a total of 30 bands, and had every band kicked in. The sound sucked. There does come a point where feedback will occur because it's just too loud. For the most part I find that having one on stage monitors is far more important and useful than on mains, but in terrible acoustic environments they can help on mains as well. You may want to consider a Behringer 8024 or DBX DrivePA, as these have both feedback elimination and RTA/automatic EQ.
