Subsonics may kill the woofers. Can also cause clipping in low level circuitry, clipping even though output is not near rails. Bye bye silk domes.

Try some Selenium 8 inchers, sealed boxes.

For tweets, either piezo's (ugh) or eminence tweets. I use selenium d501ti's, 8Khz, 3rd order, 300 watt program. Pad horn tweets, they're about 10 db higher spl than the woofs.

Biggest hearing loss issue is cue headphone. Most scratch dj's I know run headphone volume way too high, to compensate for loss of music recognition because of one ear.
