Thanks for all your replys. I figured it out.

First of all I had my input on Minidisk hooked up to post channels, not Bus strips.

I turned off EQ's. Used phones to set recording. Very clean and transparent with plenty of headroom. Make that LOTS and LOTS!!!! of headroom!

I am now using the Bus outputs for both the cassette and minidisk.

The recordings are as good as they can be for a Minidisk. I am looking to either use my Tascam DA MKII for recording, or replace it with the new Tascam CD-R700. Any Suggestions?
