I have recently tried the Crown CE-1000 for use as the front mains amp in my own HT setup. It's terrific. See my post on it under the general AA forum under reviews, amps, etc... The CE-2000 may be a tad short on the power specs if you want 800 to 1200 watts per channel into 3 ohms, but I think honestly it will have you covered. If you're looking for 800 to 1200 total, try the CE-1000. Otherwise, give the CE-2000 or the CE-4000 a try. I know where you can buy the 1000 and 2000 well under MAP street price. That series uses cooling fans but they don't come on until either the power transformer or the output devices reach dangerous temps. --and-- I don't think the LFE channel is gonna ever receive enough consecutive data to cause the fans to kick on. I'm going to use a CE-2000 bridged mono for a pair of pro cinema sub cabinets in the near future. I hope this helps.
