Even if you do use a line level feed for 100 ft, any noise, or gain loss, will still be there be it, low level or high level, though we're not talking about any real problems here either way EXCEPT, you have to power the pre-amp at the other end, will the power curcuits be on different rails of a fuse box, or transformer?. The difference in power could introduce a groundloop causeing you to have to lift or modify ground, opening up the potential for other problems to accure. As I said, I would prefer the standard run. Keeping the pre-amp nearest to the recording equipment, or converters, and in easy reach.
