Continuing the discussion of using a Pro Amplifier for subs - I presently have a Crown D150 driving stereo 4 ohm Dayton 15" DVC in large sealed boxes from 60-80Hz and down.I want to increase power to the subs. I just bought a Crown XLS 602 but the fans are just too loud so I am returning it.
Would someone recommend a stereo amp with no fan that runs at least 300W@8 ohm or 500W@4 ohm? One idea I have is to use 2 Parts Express plate amps, one for each channel. Would that work?
Vintage options would be the Crown D300, or Altec PSA2 or BGW 750 vintage, would they be good?
But I would prefer something new.
Thank you for any help,
Dwight St
