Zalman TNN-300 case with Enermax 485 watt PSU

Zalman's PSU failed. A new one is on route (warranty replacement) but this left me with no transport. I installed my Enermax NoiseTaker II 485 watt PSU onto the Zalman case. Picture describes this best - removed rear heat sink and mounted Enermax externally with power cables neatly fed through hole that was used for heat pipes. With Zalman PSU not operating, case temperature is lower therefore rear heat sink can be removed. With Enermax running outside, CPU temperature dropped from 38 to 35 degrees C.

With all additional optimizations (changes 1-11), Enermax Zalman combination gives better results! Enermax seems to be doing a better job even with dual PSU fans. (Note no CPU fan is used). This may change with new Zalman PSU as original may have had a latent fault.

I also changed 'EnablePrefetcher' setting from 2 (boot only) to 0 (Disable). See 4.5.c in paper for how 2.
