I sort of agree with you ;-)

I would say that MOST of the music I had on LP, ripped from CD, or paid for as downloaded hi-res, is available to me in Qobuz. To be honest I keep the CD rips not because the cost of the CDs but mainly because I put so much work into the ripping them! The 'hi-res' downloads didn't require much work but those were a bit pricey so I guess cost comes into play with those. In any case, it's all on hard disk (or solid-state disk) with multiple backups that take no additional effort to keep around.

As an aside, after I ripped my CDs to hard drive I still kept bins full of them as backup for several years "just in case". And then I came to my senses! I gave them away and freed up a lot of space.
