I sort of agree with you ;-)I would say that MOST of the music I had on LP, ripped from CD, or paid for as downloaded hi-res, is available to me in Qobuz. To be honest I keep the CD rips not because the cost of the CDs but mainly because I put so much work into the ripping process!
The 'hi-res' downloads didn't require much work but those were a bit pricey so I guess cost comes into play with the 'hi-res' albums. In any case, it's all on hard disk (or solid-state disk) now with multiple backups that take no additional effort to keep around.
As an aside, after I ripped my CDs to hard drive I still kept heavy bins full of them as backup for several years "just in case". And then I came to my senses! I gave the CDs away and freed up a lot of physical space. If I should croak over dead my wife won't have to deal with tons of CDs and LPs.

Kind of like cable TV - it's just not worth even when gainfully employed. Ten years down the road on fixed income it's possible streaming and maybe even internet just won't be worth it.
I have CDs and vinyl and live concert downloads in the digital music library and the disk are staying in play and active alongside streaming and physical media (which admittedly get used less).
