A couple of AI stories

One doesn't have to look too hard to find stories of "AI gone wrong." There was a lawyer that got in trouble with the judge in a court trial -- he had used AI to do case research for his pleadings and it turned out AI had just MADE UP the cases he cited.

In researching AI's possible use for the company I work for, I asked it the same question I had just finished answering for one of our clients. AI cited an out-of-date reference in its answer, but presented it as authorative. When I challanged its answer, I got an apology; only then did it bother disclosing it didn't have access to the current reference database it should have used.

From this and other examples, our company has banned the use of AI for answering questions.
