Of course, playing from CD Drive sounds cleaner than the same file played from hard disk(it seems that HD controllers violate PCI rules where IDE DVD drives do not). Though that SATA HDs in AHCI mode sound a lot more detailed than old IDE HDs.
But I mean I don´t enjoy playing with PC cause this problem. Even I don´t enjoy with a CD burned by myself as much as I do with a pressed CD. Anyways I prefer ALWAYS to listen music from any CD player my 15 years old Technics.
