The whole thing with a PC based system in my opinion is that the majority of people already have a computer, then all you need to do is add a decent sound card or Dac and possibly a hard drive for storage and for a few hundred you will have a system that sounds better than most budget cd players. An added bonus is that you have all your music at the click of a mouse instead of having to look through piles of cds for a song.
