lew yes for me it open up an is more stabel you siad be for you had ESL as you know thay can be hard to drive, only amps of RalphS that i have are the Kits M60II from the 90s.I diy my 14 6as7 Circlotrons an used the front end of the 60s now i did some mods you know when youself an Paul & *ark would talk on OLD fourm lots of great Ifo an ones again i thank all so i dont wont you to think i have a newer MA1. An its eze for me my amps play from my shop next to my room thay are all ways in fulx. Now it was a big deal for me win i saw one amp with the 1k on the b+ it made the amps come to gather you have had yours for a long time,so i would take the 1k out the sound was good but lose i would put it in it would titen up not bad but some of the sound with it out i like so i would add more rs.5k not right so i end up likeng 2k more than the one 1k a little of each thanks allso i would like to say in my amps if i run 12 6as7s an go to 14 what a Big deal it maks in my sound allmost not same amps
