Thanks for all the great info guys! The reason I asked is that I managed to get myself an ASL MG Head OTL MkIII DT headphone amp for my setup. One of its features is an OTL switch, which allows immediate changing between transformer operation and straight OTL operation.
Will be experimenting to see which is best, especially since I have two headphones on either end of the impedance spectrum (one at 600 ohm, the other at 18 ohm).
