-So far I've not seen much in the way of actual physics from any power cord manufacturer. What I have seen is that there are drops in AC voltage that can be quite significant on some cords.

After the AC gets into the amps, the power supplies themselves are actually pretty quiet. If RF is an issue its certainly doesn't seem as if its getting in through the power supplies. We've been trying really hard to stop it from getting in elsewhere too. There may be some interaction with some rectifiers such that they begin to radiate on their own, but HEXFREDs and the like we use now seem less susceptable then the rectifers from the old days.

Anyway, I would be interested in seeing/hearing more about the RF standing wave phenomena; so far the only thing I've seen that works in AC cords is reducing the AC voltage drop (FWIW, a 2 volt drop can result in a loss of 30% or more of the output power of many amps...).
