I’m not an expert but…..my first ‘hi-end’ system included a pair of Maggies (MGIIc?), my youngest brother still has that system. He chides me whenever we get together that I gave him the best system I ever had…in some ways I suspect he’s right. All that to say that some 15 yrs later, I still miss the Maggies and hope to find a way to get a pair of 3.6Rs back in my present system with M60s. So, my advise would be to pursue option 2. There are unique qualities to the sound of Maggies that you won’t be able to replicate with dynamic speakers, so if they work well in your current set-up and room then I’d stay with them and get on the vinyl bandwagon. Best luck w/your decision.
