to learn that Ralph supplied 1.5A fuses with the Novacrons. I was loathe to increase the size of the fuse on each 6C33C without Ralph's blessing, but this gives me license to do so, I guess. Anyway, on Saturday I replaced all the blown 1A fuses and inserted the Zeros into the system in place of spkr wire. The result is still a wonderful sound and perhaps I now notice by comparison that there WAS a slight sense of strain before the Zeros were in play. The sound is now a touch more effortless (at the 2X setting), and no more fuses blew over the weekend (at $2 per fuse from my local hardware store, the fuse-blowing could get expensive). Also, with Zeros, 1 or 2 o'clock on the volume control is now equal to about 3 o'clock without Zeros. Both with and without the Zeros, the mid-bass and mid-range are superb. I am surprised that one could use a 1.5A fuse with the 6C33C-B, since (i) these are not fast-blow fuses, and (ii) the max plate dissipation for a 6C33C-B is either 60W or 100W (I cannot recall which), but even with a 1A fuse, each tube could momentarily dissipate 135W which goes up to nearly 200W with a 1.5A fuse. I had noticed without Zeros that the power trannys were really hot after a listening session where I "pushed the envelope".
