O.K., that was a compound question, so maybe I should clarify. I am building an M-60 from scratch, since the kits are no longer available :(. I bought the latest assembly manual from Atma-Sphere ($17, thank you Mr. Karsten that is very generous of you to share your trade secrets for a $5000 superb amp.)It is my understanding that the M-60 and the MA-1 once shared the same transformer set. I would like to have the option of future upgrades from (8) 6AS7G's to say 10 or more as needed.
1) What are the differences between the amp specs of the M-60 and the MA-1?
2) If I overshoot some of the specs, which are desirable to overshoot? Would it run cooler?, more noisy?, less noisy? See transformer design link http://www.geofex.com/Article_Folders/xformer_des/xformer.htm
3) Are there off-the-shelf transformers that would fit the bill?
Excuse my ignorance,
John M.
