Yes, When measuring DC offset (balance), the meter is connected across the speaker output binding posts. So the ZERO and the meter are in parallel. This means that any DC offset current is now shared between the two. Since the DC resistance of the ZERO is a low 0.3 ohms, it "steals" (bypasses) a considerable amount of the offset current from the meter. Thus the meter will still show DC offset (balance), but as a smaller value.Sorry, I don't understand your second point about a "wave form" at "idle". That seem like a contradiction of terms. Help me understand.
