Bryan,I'm using 2 uF caps. This may be the difference. Are there any audible effects with the 3 uF caps? When my preamp was just breaking in, I had what sounded like some oscillation of the signal; a kind of picket fencing kind of sound. It only happened twice and only for a few seconds each time, but I think the bass, primarily, was modulated. I'd definitly try a 2 uF in place of the 3 uF. Good luck and keep us posted. Thanks!

P.S.- Just an aside: I had thought that I was pretty good at soldering when I started my M-60MKII's and Foreplay kits but after finding several instances of cold solder joints as the cause of various noise and hum problems I realize the importance of a good solder joint! It can't hurt to check and reflow all the joints again. - What a pain but often worthwhile.
