This is sometimes a very difficult problem to fix. I have seen it before. As you've already guessed, it's not your amplifiers. That's the good news.I have found some preamps that generate low frequency noise. Typically, it's not audible, since it's audible components are much lower in level than the sub-audible noise causing the problem. This is where a scope is invaluable. It will find the source, in your preamp, in short order. I don't know your particular preamp, so I'm afraid I can't help with suggestions. Your amps have very good low frequency response. That's the good news and the bad news. Lesser tube amps would never try to amplify this low frequency noise.
