Mike,
You might check with Albert Porter who posts regularly on Audiogon (user name: albertporter). Albert used the MA-2's as his reference amplifier with his Soundlab's for a number of years, but has switched to the Wolcott's recently. I've never explored with him the reason for the change. I'm sure he'll be quite willing to share his thinking.
