I recently upgraded my MA240s to include Paul Speltz' tweaked output supply, creating a CRCRC' network using very low value R's (<1 ohm; see Speltz's Tweaks). I used C = 2000uF and added an additional 2000uF cap in parallel with my final output supply capacitance (= C') to raise C' from 7900uF to 9900uF, per phase. So in net I went from 7900uF to 13900uF per phase, disregarding the additional filtering effect of the resistors. Prior to the mod, my bass response was so pleasing, I really thought the spkrs were the limiting factor, i.e., that I would hear no significant improvement with the added capacitance and resistors. I was very wrong. Bass response seems to go even lower and bass definition is markedly improved. This was not a subtle upgrade.
