Anand,
I am currently using my M60's to drive Magnepan 3.5r speakers
and love the combination. They drive them full range just fine
for most music and quickness of the amps and speakers make the
sound magical.
That being said, there are some drawbacks.....they do not play loud.
Female vocals do break up at moderate/high volumes, and the bass is
not as aggresive as with cone speakers.(But that is
typical magnepan). I would really recommend MA1's for the 3.6's,
but the M60's can drive them.
One secret is to use the shortest speaker wire possible if you decide to
do it. I use 18" wires, and the power/bass is better. (Ralph is the one
who passed this tip on to me). Adding more filter output caps also helped.
Hey Edward(Kerslake), since you are using Maggies and M60's what do you think? As for the turntable....I will leave that for someone who knows more about it.
Harry
