For the frequency range you listed you are better off with the 208. I've used both in a rear loaded horn and the 206 has more top end, so it would work at counterpurposes as you want lowpass at 2500Hz.
On open baffle I wouldn't use either, instead I would use the Visaton B200 (higher QTS, designed for ob) or an old Altec 755c especially if you run it down to 150Hz.
