Jim--If you want that robust and clear Altec sound and that imaging thing I suggest you listen to some 604 or 605 Duplexes. IME they do the imaging thing very well; lots of depth and width that extends past the speakers themselves and sometimes wraps around behind you. Spooky sometimes listening in the dark.
