If the price is right, and the plans are simple enough, I might be willing to try DIY. I build Bottlehead kits but it is the woodworking that intimidates me. And making sure I have a really proven design. I look at the Klipsch speakers and think, I like them. Then I think (truly had this though earlier:)It can't be that hard to make a pair yourself and put in even better horns and a better woofer and get some real results with better components in the crossover for about the same price. So, though there actually is a speaker or two that I want to hear still, I am open to some ideas that I feel are within my capability for building.
