WRT increasing acoustic efficiency, it's only overkill when there's no room left to sit IMO since it lowers distortion. FWIW, my room has ~ the same area with only a ~2.4 m ceiling and 'overkill' doesn't describe my stereo pair of corner loaded Altec 515Bs.
