I may be the only one on here who likes these, but the Peavey RX 22 has a screw-on 1" throat, is rated to cross over at 500 Hz, and is not terrribly expensive. The older Peavey 22A (aluminum) and 22XT+ (titanium) drivers sound decent to me too. All the diaphragms on these are interchangeable, so if you pick up some on ebay or something, it's easy to get new XT+ diaphragms, or swap in the older aluminum ones.
