...we implemented a JBL 2012H 10" midrange driver by mounting it in a sealed box and playing it from 200Hz or so, and by the time we reached 1200Hz, it was clearly best to cross over again to a horn. We used the quite lovely JBL 2435 CD, now and then seen on ebay. Like you, we used 15" JBL's below. Ours were 2226's. Even with the best midrange quality 15" drivers, I would argue for using a dedicated midrange driver in the 200-1200Hz range.Just my 2 cents worth......
