8" on O.B. (24"w x 30"h). Never looked at any 'design' as a template. Just picked up some birch ply (oak veneer), from the remainder bin, that looked large enuff. And they were. No wings [single cloth layer draped over back (too many layers and the sound became muffled)], angle brackets for legs, tripod rear leg (furniture hinge), sand in 2 ltr water bottle ballast (poly cord/hanging from hinge). All feet spiked.Signed, just me and the music.
