Hello,The Oppo 205 has several digital inputs but no analog inputs. You won't be able to connect your phono stage directly. I suppose you could rig up an ADC and make it work, but I don't think you will be pleased with that solution. I've used the 205 as a DAC and streamer (ethernet). It has volume control via the remote, although I find the volume buttons to be awkwardly located for my clumsy fingers.
I haven't been in the preamp market for years since I switched to an integrated. I recommend seeking advice on inexpensive alternatives over on the Amp/Preamp Asylum. Before the next wave of tariffs kicks in.
