Calling Sony DVP-S 9000 ES owners...

New high resolution SACD releases, players and technology.

...when the unit came out there were some people who successfully played CD-Rs on the 9000ES, even though the player was not supposed to.
Does anyone still manage to play today's CD-R on their 9000ES? I've tried all kinds of brands w/ no luck. Even the Sony Supremas or Kodak 24 kt Gold CD-Rs someone mentioned do not work. The player does take CD-RWs though.
Any opinions?
