I think the stock SCD-1 is pretty good, definitely a step up from my previous Theta Miles in terms of detail retrieval and soundstaging, but agree with others that the sound leans a bit to the dry/analytical side. I wouldn't want to do the mods unless they provided a bit more musicality.

Slowhand, I'd love to hear your reports as the player burns in....
