I've had the same problem(s). The realignment procedure worked the first few times, but the problem eventually turned into a failure to read any disc until I replaced the laser.

When my player was failing to find the SACD layer on dual larey discs, however, I was able to trick the player into find the SACD layer by first briefly playing a single-layer SACD disc and then playing the hybrid.
