I have the same problems with my 9000ES, sent it back to the factory 2 years ago to have the drive replaced, as it stopped playing the sacd layer on dual layer disks.

The problem started up again 6 months ago. Now I just the auto align function in the service mode and it works everytime.

title,clear,power on the remote in that order, follow screen prompts.

It might take a few attempts to get thru the whole process.
