... of the CD to the inner most track, about 2 second"Nope - this is a really hard working part, it is in constant motion when a disk is playing as it's job is keeping the part of the disk that's being read correctly and exactl aligned over the fixed laser.
And if you want to wear it out real fast, just leave the player running mid track in pause mode for a few days...
