Thank you for your thoughtful review of this recording. Although we all have our own favorite recorded performance of this symphony, I was somewhat hesitant to add this one to my collection merely on the basis of the glowing reports here and elsewhere regarding its sound quality. (Unlike many audiophiles, sound quality ranks significantly below the performance aspects for me.) Your description of the mezzo soprano singing the Urlicht is good enough for me. Thanks again for saving me nearly $30 on a recording that might never be played a second time.
