You can still get them new for $550 or so. You can then have someone like Dan Wright at Modwright put in the Clock 3 upgrade, remove coupling caps, change OpAmps, and some other miscellaneous things and still be right around the $1k mark. With this you will have a much better sounding player than the stock 999ES
