Thanks for the responses. Doesn't seem to be a lot of info out there on the DVP-NS999ES. Might just have to get one and see what it can do. They seem to have good resale value.It sounds as though the DV-59avi really excels as a DVD player, and maybe Sony is the way to go for audio. And maybe it's wishful thinking to find a sub-$1K player that can do CD, SACD, and DVD well.
