if you want...

the Cary to perform as it was designed to, then use the stock cord - as that was the cord it was designed to use... on the other hand if you feel that you would like a little more of this, or a little less of that, then different AC cords are aplenty for you to find that "perfect sound". Problem is only you can make that decision and it seems that you are hapy with the Cary as is.
If you find/use a different cord that does not change the sound (as opposed to one that results in the Cary being different in some way - better, or worse, or just different), then that cord is just letting the Cary be the Cary. And as such, why bother changing cords? Either you want to "change" the Cary in some way or are happy with the way it is - you could though just try a more substantial "stock-like" cord (Belden, etc.) and see what happens.
