I had a chance to compare my Sony SCD-1 to the Cary 306 this past weekend and I was so impressed I decided to buy the 306. I'm listening to it in my system right now and it's a great SACD stereo player. I'm also excited at the prospect of being able to enjoy some of my RBCD library. I heard a few tracks of well recorded RBCD's during the audition that sounded very good even at the 44.1 sampling rate.So far I find the sound stage is larger with a better low end and an obvious improvement in resolution and imaging compared to the SCD-1. It only has a little over 100 hours playing time so I'm expecting a further improvement based on the reviews I've read. I'll post a more complete description of my listening experiences after I've had a couple of months with the player.
