...I have heard many mp3's played through my own system and at the level of compression he was using (128k and 192k) they make my ears bleed. There was none of that....I have been envolved in the hobby of quality audio reproduction for many decades, and have always been able to judge sound against live sound standards (I did professional recording for a period of time, as well). And by those standards this was good music reproduction, in an absolute sense. I've heard many CD's that sound much worse.
