...as Rick Gardner and I have found out over at Positive Feedback Online: the Teac Esoteric X-01 and UX-1 units both apparently decimate DSD to PCM, boging out on doing thing right. The results are less than stellar, in our estimation...which is too bad, since the build quality and the transport are of superior standard.Any news that Teac was going back to an engine that can handle DSD as DSD would be very welcome news. If my audiofriend John Marks bears the responsibility for this, then we owe him a collective tip of the hat!
Else, one goes to all the trouble to produce a fine wine, then cuts it with tap water, packages it in cardboard boxes and serves it up in dixie cups.
