You guys never cease to amaze me! Here's what:- I don't have other players, so dunno is the answer to Q2. And I alread packed the disc for return purposes (am going the old-fashioned way) so I won't even be able to find out, even though I already got curious from all the related exhanges below.
- As for Q1, yes the problem was there already the very first time I was listening to the disc(s), fresh out of the wrappers.
So in your very nice scheme, this would make it... unresolved, or "maybe a...disc problem"? Very regrettably I don't know of anyone in my 'hood yet, even less anyone with an SACD player (just moved to this borough, this city, this country, this continent, this hemisphere), so I can't even try and check.
But my curiosity is really piqued by your passing mention of a possible copyright software issue; this is serious news! Can you enlighten me more? Didn't even think about this. Maybe, given that the issues are brand new, there could somehow be something to it? Maybe Capriccio and SonyBMG/Deutsche Harmonia Mundi now do it, too? How intriguing!
Thanks for the well thought-out input and help. I bet you're in natural sciences (you can tell I'm not).
T.
