German Stereoplay magazine have reviewed both SA11S1 and SA15S1. My german isn't good at all, but I think they thought both machines were quite equal with SACDs, but SA11S1 was a bit better with RBCDs than SA15S1. Stereoplay rated the performance SA11S1 64 for SACD and 59 for CD, SA15S1 64 for SACD and 58 for CD. For comparison, they have rated Marantz SA1 64/58 and Marantz SA8400 63/57.
Maybe there is audible difference for you or maybe not and it is also possible that you'd even prefer SA15S1 over SA11S1 if you get to test both machines. I'd go for SA15S1 and save that $1000 for something else.
