Transport performance is a big thing for me as well. It's already been discussed that the XA777ES/9000ES transports are marginal.I just ordered a Pioneer DV-59AVI to be used strictly as a stereo machine in my second system. Everyone I talked to verified that it was rock solid and never missed a bit. My first disc player from 15+ years ago was a pioneer, and it's going strong still. They just seem to know how to make a solid transport I suppose.
