I only have three as I bought the other two for the fillers which takes up 1/2 the disc. I also really enjoy the Bartok Piano Concertos on Capriccio SACD.One Bartok Concerto for Orchestra no one seems to mention is the one with Zoltan Kocsis conducting the Hungarinan National Philharmonic on Hungaroton's only SACD. Zoltan Kocsis went to the Bela Bartok Music School and the Franz Liszt Music Academy. It is a very good Concerto for Orchestra but I bought it for Bartok's Dance Suite and Hungarian Peasant Songs . Very exciting Dance Suite and beautiful Hungarian Peasant Songs however there is a PCM signature to the sound but the music is so good it does not distract.
Fritz Reiner's is the best musically and sonically and he is a Hungarian Jew as well.
My question why do most Bartok SACDs have to use up half the disc with yet another version of Concerto for Orchestra?

- I have 3 Bartok Concertos for Orchestra as well, and agree Reiner on RCA LSC is the best. - Teresa 20:57:19 01/24/06 (0)
