I don't have enough SACDs to listen to them as often as I do CDs, but my player does a great job on both, and I find the extra high frequency information on the SACDs is the opposite of rolled-off. I often wish I could equalize them by warming up the bottom a bit to compensate. Of course, with the more extended highs comes more room ambience, so I wouldn't want to ruin that. I have none of the discs you've mentioned, so I can't compare directly, but I do find that CDs often sound punchier and richer, with more body than SACDs, but that's got to be because of their lesser HF extension and air, as well as the different circuitry involved in the player. One thing's for sure... muted trumpet, which is very difficult to record and sounds piercing on Redbook, is so extended on SACD it just goes on and on, inviting you to turn it up even louder. Very nice.
