Emil Berliner Studios where most Mercury Living Presence tapes have been transfered to high-resolution DSD doesn't have 35MM magnetic film playback facility, so they have to transfer those full coated magnetic film masters at other studio which, unfortunately, doesn't equipped with DSD Analog/Digital converters. That's why all conventional half inch, 3 track, reel to reel master tapes are transfered directly to DSD at the Emil Berliner Studios, but all magnetic film masters are transfered to 24 bit/192KHz PCM, before converted to DSD in the final post production.
